Background & Purpose

Remember who said this? “Problems cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them.” You are right, Albert Einstein.
Many times when we see things in one way (our natural understanding of a problem or situation) it is hard to see it in another way, and it requires from us a many times difficult but necessary paradigm shift.

If you browse online you will find many resources and tools to help you and your team shift the lens on a situation.

Creative Play

Creative Play

Background & Purpose

This is a game I came up with in 2011 when I was writing my Master’s thesis and exploring ways of creative collaboration. The game takes 45 minutes to one hour for a group size of 6-10 and depends on how many people is involved. It is a game which can be evolved and modified into other games that trigger asyndetic and lateral thinking.

Wisdom Walks

Wisdom Walks

Time frame:

Punctual usage
Complexity: 1/5
More info: http://www.symbiose.li

Background & Purpose

Wisdom Walks is a simple tool that can help creativity flow and foster a meaningfull, unstructured conversation. It involves going on a walk – alone or with one or more team members. It helps to set a general topic or guiding question. There should be space for free conversation around the topic as well as for silance. However, it supports the process to announce the walk or hike as a wisdom walk and set an expectation what you wish to get out of it. Project idea development, strategy and decision-making could be tackled like this.

Ping Pong Q&A Game

Ping Pong Q&A Game

Punctual usage
Complexity: 1/5

Background & Purpose

#The “ping pong Q&A” game will inevitably result in absurd, silly and often very meaningful input:

One person asks a question which needs to be answered without pause and minimal hesitation in exactly five words by all other participants. The game works especially well in pairs.

This restriction of five words and no thinking time causes some very curious effects including answers that are surprisingly deep and provocative.

Ongoing usage

Complexity: 2/5
More info: http://

Background & Purpose

The outcome is to uncover and address market needs you never thought of.

Listen to feedback from customers. How do they use the product, what values do they see in it? Develop the product in that direction, either the marketing or testing (e.g. testing detergent for skin tolerance).

Iterative Planning

Iterative Planning

Background & Purpose

When designing a new project idea we use smaller prototypes to test and verify what works and what does not. In Otuchilishte, for example, we aim at creating a comprehensive training programme for entrepreneurs, but we started with smaller events – from a 2-hour format to weekends for intrapreneurs. This helps us learn on the move, save resources and build capacity and awareness for the bigger idea of a multi-month educational programme.
